Juvéderm is a family of hyaluronic acid-based dermal fillers. There are several products ranging from different textures and consistencies to achieve your desired look. Each product in the Juvéderm line features different bonding and concentrations of hyaluronic acid. Assessing the face as a whole allows a tailored treatment to target specific problems when injected into different areas and depths.

- Juvéderm Voluma XC adds volume for lift and contour to achieve a more youthful look. This product is perfect for depleted/drooping cheeks or to create definition in the chin.
- Juvéderm Vollure XC adds subtle volume to address the loss of skin elasticity and smooth out wrinkles and lines around the mouth and nose known as smile lines.
- Juvéderm Ultra XC and Juvéderm Volbella XC adds volume to the lips and softens vertical lip lines. We can achieve a range of desired fullness for plump and natural looking lips.

What should I expect before and during treatment?
Treatments begin with a free consultation with a licensed provider to discuss medical history, concerns, and expectations for an optimal treatment. A full facial assessment is completed to treat the underlying issues and areas that may require contour, lift, and/or volume.
A topical lidocaine cream or anesthetic is applied to the injection site, followed by alcohol or antiseptic. The injectable gel also contains lidocaine to ensure progressive comfort throughout the procedure.
The treatment session takes an average time of 30 minutes with any given treated area. There may be up to 2 weeks of downtime with bruising and swelling considered.
When being treated with dermal fillers, one must consider that maintenance visits be required as the product metabolizes over time. The Juvéderm collection ranges in their longevity, from anywhere between 1-2 years. Juvéderm injections can be a great combination treatment with a neurotoxin for optimal results.
What happens after treatment?
You may continue your regular skin care regime and apply makeup the day after your appointment. Some patients may need a touch-up session after swelling goes down and expectations will be discussed with your provider.
What are the possible side effects?
Any injection carries a risk of infection. If redness/swelling/irritation continue beyond 30 days, ask your provider about antibiotics or steroids use.
Some patients experience redness, swelling, pain, tenderness, firmness, lumps/bumps, bruising, discoloration, and itching at the injection site. Most side effects are mild to moderate and resolve within 2-4 weeks.
Complications such as Vascular Occlusions are rare but possible even amongst the most experienced injectors. Symptoms such as pale, white, dusky or cool to touch areas. Immediately consult your provider in case of these side effects.

- Avoid strenuous activity for the first 24 hours after your treatment.
- Avoid alcohol and blood-thinners such as ibuprofen, fish oil, vitamin E, ginseng, green tea, garlic and ginkgo 1 week before and after treatment to minimize bruising.
- Protect your skin from the sun/tanning beds to avoid the risk of skin quality and potential breakdown of fillers.
- Ice the area to decrease downtime and swelling.
- Some clients prepare for injections by taking oral Arnica tablets 3-4 days before treatment to reduce the risk of bruising.
- May take Tylenol for any pain/swelling and Benadryl for redness, welting, itching.
